The newly discovered \u201cCollection #1&#8221; is the largest public data breach by volume, with 772,904,991 unique emails and 21,222,975 unique passwords exposed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update 3:42pm ET:<\/strong>\u00a0It gets worse. Security reporter Brian Krebs\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/krebsonsecurity.com\/2019\/01\/773m-password-megabreach-is-years-old\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a> that the Collection #1 trove is just a single offering from a seller who claims to have at least six more batches of data. Also, the Collection #1 data is said to be 2-3 years old, so not exactly the freshest but potentially still valuable to malicious actors.
